For and against - Albert F.

Bilingualism

Speaking two languages has obvious practical benefits of an increasingly globalized world but, sometimes bilingualism can cause some trouble, especially on kids.

On one hand, those who believe that bilingualism is essential for nowadays world tend to claim this is a move on investing in their future. In fact, most of them argue that it makes you more competitive in the workplace and it can also afford you on achieving new experiences while travelling, thanks to your abilities.

On the other hand, those who think that it can be harmful say that it is not always a good thing try to learn two or more languages. Actually, children who grow up learning two or more languages face more problems with language development: with grammar, vocabulary or pronunciation.

To sum up, I think that bilingualism has more benefits than disadvantages and it can be very useful in today’s world.
