Dialogue (Option 2) - David Dellunde

Two high school teachers, Jorge and Ariana, are discussing which could be the advantages and disadvantages of introducing ICT (Information and Communication Technology) as a new school subject.

Jorge: Actually, potential research becomes more tech-dependent. We need to encourage our children to develop knowledge about how to use the information and digital technologies, otherwise, they won't have job opportunities.

Ariana: I agree with your opinion. Boys and girls are raised in these days with a cell phone in their pocket. Many years ago, this was not to be anticipated. We ought to keep in mind that these younger generations are going to learn more and more about technology, which ensures teachers will pass the class. This will be costly though and some teachers would not comply altogether with the proposal.

Jorge: Completely, however, we would find that Information and Communication Technology should be a subject of primary school, we will be teaching simple, limited informatics concepts. And, for us, it needs to be readily understood. I see with this little question. It's a much-needed matter.

Ariana: All right! I can't wait to know new things and teach the children valuable concepts.

Jorge: It’s amazing and I am happy to be part of educational development.
